MedicScan healthcare scanning solutions
Improve front office efficiency, reduce errors and cut costs
MedicScan is a powerful imaging application designed specifically to meet the needs of patient care facilities by capturing digital data from insurance cards and driver’s licenses. MedicScan streamlines the patient registration process by eliminating the need to photocopy patient ID cards, resulting in greater efficiency, reduced human error, and reduced costs.
MedicScan quickly and accurately capture the image from both sides of cards (by scanning the card twice when using a simplex scanner) and provides the option to combine the two sides into a single image for improved storage, viewing and printing when using a cost-effective simplex scanner. The captured image can be attached to the patient's electronic record, saved to a file, or exported to any other application; it can be easily emailed or sent to an FTP or web address.
Each of the MedicScan solutions is customizable to satisfy the unique needs of your organization – be it a small practice, group practice, multi-site medical group, hospital or pharmacy. Options include automatic image file saving to a designated location; automatic image file naming; automatic ID card detection scanning; and automatic routing of scanned image to designated printer. The MedicScan software can even be set to run in a windowless work mode*, avoiding the need to open additional windows. MedicScan software may be used with leading practice management and EMR systems by exporting and attaching image files to patient records.
MedicScan solutions include your choice of compact, space-saving USB powered A6 (card size) or A4 (cards and documents up to 8.5” x 14”) scanners for quick digital capture with zero warm-up wait time and no need for external power supply.
MedicScan Product Summary
MedicScan OCR delivers the full MedicScan features, plus a powerful OCR engine. MedicScan Pro provides all the features of MedicScan plus a stand-alone database with the capability to support up to one million patient records and an unlimited number of ID cards. MedicScan Pro OCR includes both the OCR engine and database. The MedicScan viewer enables non-scanning stations to view the database created by MedicScan Pro and MedicScan Pro OCR.
